Take today for example. Dull, rainy, damp. In my books that signals a perfect knitting day. I am currently trying to finish a few pairs of socks that I've started and a sweater that is so very close to being finished. I have lots of other things that I have been working on that need to be finished. That is my goal this year....to finish all the things I have started. Believe me, there are lots of finished objects coming up in the near future. I will post pics as I finish these things so you can see what I have been up to.

I also have a pair of ankle socks on the go for my niece who is sick with mono. The poor girl is really feeling rough and I hope these will put a smile on her face.

That's about it for my exciting life today. Still looking for a job. Anybody know of any out here in the Windsor-Tecumseh area that don't require someone with alot of experience? Give me a shout if you do.a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-52169478151570025832009-01-31T17:54:00.002-05:002009-01-31T17:57:19.312-05:00Valentines Day is fast approaching... any ideas for quick craft projects?Valentines Day will be here soon and I'm looking for quick projects that I can either sew or knit for my family members. I am especially looking for a knitted felted dog pattern for my littlest guy. Does anyone out there know where I can find one?a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-9884656368868722312008-05-16T08:22:00.003-04:002008-05-16T08:26:44.119-04:00It's Been A Long Time!I know I know it's been a long time. I'm blaming it on computers that up and die when you least expect them to, and...well...me too. I didn't have a computer for a while (a few months) and I got used to not being on it and I had so much more time to do other things. Anyone else have this problem? Anyhow, I'm gonna try again to write more in my blog.a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-21068459627092185532007-09-21T08:32:00.000-04:002007-09-21T08:46:20.708-04:00Good Friday to You and Knitting for ChristmasI wanted to take a minute and wish everyone a good day today. It's the start of the week-end and the weather has been very nice as of late.

I have been busy trying to finish 2 pairs of socks I started a while back for Christmas presents, as well as a pair of felted slippers and a pair of felted mittens too.

I got this idea for my kids & nieces for Christmas and I hope I can make it work. I have decided to do my own 12 days of Christmas for them. Everyday for 12 days I would like to give them some small homemade thing. It may be a pair of slippers, a pair of mitts, a mug with hot chocolate, etc. you get the idea. I haven't come up with something for all 12 days yet and if anyone out there reads this thing, I am open to ideas. Please feel free to share them and tell me what you think of this idea.

Please keep in mind that they need to be fairly quick to make. There are 8 altogether ranging in ages from 4 to 24 both boys and girls. If I actually manage to pull this off, I may consider doing it for others in the family as well.

Until next time!a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-28582656819182493332007-09-04T08:49:00.001-04:002008-09-05T19:18:37.104-04:001st day of schoolCan you believe it? First day of the new school year. Jake boarded his bus with smiles and he is so excited about seeing his buddies from last year. Houston goes on Thursday for his first day in SK. I still can't believe school is starting already. It seems that they just finished school.

This is a sign for me to get busy and start thinking about fall, making Christmas gifts, cleaning up the gardens and all the other fun fall things.

a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-40593356285538191952007-08-28T06:43:00.000-04:002007-08-28T06:56:33.093-04:00Good MorningCan you believe that school will soon be starting for the little ones? It seems summer vacation just started and now it's almost over.
I'd better get moving and get stuff sewn, labelled, and cleaned.
I will miss them while they are gone to school. I like having my kids around. They can be so much fun and I especially like to see them play and use their imagination. Somedays I just sit here and listen to them instead of the tv or radio or being preoccupied with other things. They come up with the coolest stories and they make me smile.
Summer is just too short. :(a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-72988649805377633972007-08-10T07:06:00.000-04:002007-08-10T13:13:08.293-04:00What Kind of Cookie Are You?My blog needs some life. Since I have no way of adding any pics of my stash or the projects I've made, I thought I'd go searching for some other fun things to add. This is a new experience for me as I've never done anything like this before. (I know, I know, I really should get out more).

You Are a Black and White Cookie

You're often conflicted in life, and you feel pulled in two opposite directions.
When you're good, you're sweet as sugar. It sure is expensive to mail off these parcels though so I was considering donating locally within my own province and if I can't find anything within Ontario, then in Canada.

Does anyone have any ideas of local places that I can donate to locally that NEED the help?a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-74030775024521592912007-08-09T11:58:00.000-04:002007-08-09T11:59:37.897-04:00It's sooo hot!Wow it sure is hot these days. I guess maybe it's the humidity that is worse than anything. I can't stand the humidity. It sucks the energy right out of me.

It the meantime,I have been busily knitting away on a sweater for my sister. I still have a long way to go but it is looking pretty good...at least I think so. I am trying to get some Christmas things done now so I don't end up having so much to do when fall arrives. Christmas always seems to sneak up on me and find me unprepared. Of course the more I do now, the more I seem to add to my list. I just love to make things for my family. Heck, I just love to make things. I wish I had a good imagination and was able to design things. I have ideas, but they never turn out.

I wish the other computer was working so I could scan things and post pictures of the things I was making. I guess for now I'll just keep taking pictures and hopefully be able to post them someday.a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-49491942926207556822007-07-31T07:09:00.000-04:002007-07-31T07:45:23.136-04:00I heart yarn! (especially if it's free)I know I'm a yarn addict. I admit it. Nothing can excite me more than a trip to the store for yarn. On Saturday the local Zellers had a buy one get one free day. Now who amongst you can resist FREE yarn? Certainly not I. I started planning what I wanted to get and what I would be making with it so I wouldn't go overboard. (Yes, I have a tendency for doing this, don't you?) I told dh and the boys I would meet them in 1 hour at the mall entrance. I was a little dismayed to find that they had cut down the amount of yarn they now carry but I still managed to find a "few" things I wanted. It was a hard decision but I finally picked out my goodies and was pretty much on time. I decided to head for the checkout and when I got to the main isle I found the missing yarn that was no longer in the yarn isle. It was right there in front of me and it was on tables marked CLEARANCE! (Ok, it was a little to the left of me but still.) I knew I didn't have any time to spare yet I just couldn't walk away without looking. I made the split second decision to stay and look and fondle and caress. They would find me if they really wanted to. All they had to do was locate the shoppping cart with lots of yarn. So off to the clearance tables I went. I then had to rethink what I was going to buy and make. I am no good at hasty decisions, never have been but I managed. One lady (obviously not a yarn lover/coveter) looked at me as if I was nuts and managed a comment about the quantity in my cart! The nerve! I can only come to the conclusion that she must have been jealous. I made my way to checkout and when I got there, I was overjoyed to find out that the clearance yarn was also not only half off the ticketed price, but was also buy one get one free! I just about fainted. Now I had a $30.00 gift card and I have been saving store points for a long time and I couldn't think of anything better to use them on. SO MY ENTIRE YARN PURCHASE WAS FREE. How great is that? I am doing the happy dance :)a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-17627288878283183752007-07-24T09:33:00.000-04:002007-07-24T09:42:02.798-04:00WOW! Long time no blogI absolutely love to read other people's blogs. They are so interesting and informative. I love to hear about the things others make and the places they go. You all lead such interesting lives. I on the other hand have very little to say. Not much happens in my world. I don't even know how to add pictures to my blog. I guess I need a tutorial and a few lessons. I hope to get better at this someday.

Any words of wisdom out there for me?a knitterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15248824778589694913noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20481660.post-1152017668056882312006-07-04T08:39:00.000-04:002007-07-24T09:59:43.382-04:00Knitting for CharityI knit for charity and I LOVE to do it! I was so proud of myself. I told my teenagers I was gonna win it and I'm sure, judging by the looks on their faces that they really wish I would get a REAL life. They are happy for me, I'm sure, well at least I'm pretty sure. It's hard to tell with kids these days ya know.
Otherwise it was a pretty boring weekend.
